Gwyl Crime Cymru aims to bring together the best in Welsh crime writing with the best in International writing, as well as seeking to encourage up-and-coming Welsh writers.
There is a full programme of talks, discussions and workshops, and an opportunity to meet and mingle with the authors.
Here's a taster of the 2025 programme:
Friday
The event begins on the afternoon of Friday April 25 with a Dragon Parade to the bandstand.
Later that evening, there’ll be a chance to mingle and chat with the writers at a Noir at the Bar event in Ceredigion Museum. Main panel events will be held over the weekend in the museum and Aberystwyth Public Library.
Saturday
This year sees Alis Hawkins in conversation with Fflur Dafydd, Chris Lloyd on Euro-thrillers, and Matt Johnson and Sarah Bax Horton on true crime.
Elsewhere, Sarah Todd Taylor will be discussing writing for children with Sufiya Ahmed and Fleur Hitchcock, whilst Colin Parsons will be holding a children’s writing workshop. And for those writers who want to make sure their action scenes really are properly convincing, Zoe Sharp will be holding a self-defence workshop in the Library Teaching Room.
Saturday evening sees Festival Chair Philip Gwynne Jones in conversation with the legendary Mark Billingham.
Sunday
Sunday morning kicks off with Crime Cymru’s Cathy Ace and Hannah Hendy discussing cosy crime.
Elsewhere, Imran Mahmood will discuss legal thrillers, and crime fiction’s greatest double act of Abir Mukherjee and Vaseem Khan will being their combination of irresistible good humour and insight to a panel with “Rivers of London” author Ben Aaronovitch.
